Online JPG to JXL converter

Bulk converter works differently than the rest of the converters on this website. All files are processed in your browser and no data is sent to our servers. It's faster and more private (the files never leave your computer), but you won't be given links to the rest of the editing tools, so if you want to resize, crop, rotate or do anything other to the images, you'll need to upload them to the relevant tools.

Convert JPG to JXL (JPEG XL)

This is a free online tool for converting JPG (JPEG) images to the JPEG XL (JXL) format. Simply upload your JPG file or paste a URL, then click the "Convert to JXL!" button. The process is fast, requires no registration, and adds no watermarks to your converted images.

JPEG XL is a state-of-the-art image format designed to replace the legacy JPEG. One of its unique features is lossless transcoding, which allows you to convert existing JPEG files to JXL without any generation loss, while significantly reducing the file size. JXL also supports advanced features like high dynamic range (HDR), wide color gamut, and alpha channel transparency.

Features:

  • Lossless Transcoding: Preserve 100% of the original JPEG data while saving space.
  • Quality Control: Set a custom quality level for lossy compression.
  • Custom Effort: Adjust the encoder effort to balance processing speed and file size.
  • High Efficiency: Significant file size reduction compared to traditional JPEG and PNG.
  • No Watermarks: Completely free to use with no hidden costs or watermarks.

How to convert JPG to JXL:

  1. Upload your image: Drag and drop multiple image files to convert locally in browser, or check "Upload file to server" for single-file server conversion.
  2. Adjust settings: (Optional) Change the quality and effort levels to suit your needs.
  3. Convert: Download your converted JXL files individually or as a ZIP archive.

Warning: As of January 2026, most major web browsers (with partial support in Safari for still images) still do not enable JPEG XL support by default. You may not see a preview of the converted image in your browser unless you are using a specifically configured browser (like Pale Moon) or have enabled appropriate experimental flags. However, you can still download and use the generated JXL files.
